The Hon. Keiji FURUYA
Keiji FURUYA (born 1952) is a Japanese politician in the Liberal Democracy Party(Japan), and a member of the House of Representatives in the Diet(national legislature).
He is also the Chairman of the Japan-ROC Diet Members’ Consultative Council, which has 260 members of parliament across party lines.Keiji FURUYA served as the Chairman of the National Commission on Public Safety, the Minister of State for the Abduction Issue, the Minister in charge of Building National Resilience, the Minister of State for Disaster Management. Keiji FURUYA also served as the Chairman for the Committee on Rules and Administration.
In recent years, Keiji FURUYA has led several delegations to visit Taiwan and openly said that Japan supports Taiwan to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), and as an observer to the World Health Assembly (WHA). Keiji FURUYA has also delivered a speech at Yushan Forum at Taipei four times (2018-2021).
