Mr. Kristian R. Ablan
Kristian R. Ablan is the Undersecretary for Administration of the Department of Education.
Previously, he was undersecretary under the Office of the Press Secretary (formerly the Presidential Communications Operations Office).
He is a lawyer by profession, and as the first FOI Program Director of the Philippines, he represented the country at the International Conference of Information Commissioners (ICIC).
He holds a degree in management from Ateneo de Manila, a degree in law from the University of the Philippines; a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Auckland; and Masters in National Security Administration at the National Defense College of the Philippines.
Undersecretary Ablan holds the rank of Career Executive Service Officer (CESO) I under the career executive service and is a recipient of the 2020 Gawad Career Executive Service (CES) Presidential Award.
