Dr. Chung-in Moon is the Chairman of The Sejong Institute. He holds various academic titles, including but not limited to Distinguished University Professor of Yonsei University and Krause Distinguished Fellow at the UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of Global Asia, a quarterly English-language journal on global issues, and Vice Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Leadership Network on Nuclear Disarmament and Non-proliferation (APLN). He has authored, co-authored, and edited over 300 articles and 56 volumes of academic journals, including World Politics, International Studies Quarterly, and World Development.

In addition to his scholarly achievements, Dr. Moon has been consulted frequently by policymakers for his unrivaled expertise in international and security affairs, especially of East Asia. He is a former Special Advisor to the ROK President for Foreign Affairs and National Security and served as the Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Northeast Asian Cooperation Initiative, a cabinet-level post, and the Ambassador for International Security Affairs of the ROK Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. He also attended the first, second, and third Korean Summits in Pyongyang as a special delegate.
