About the Yushan Forum

The Yushan Forum: Asian Dialogue for Innovation and Progress is a platform launched by Taiwan to foster regional dialogue, expand multifaceted opportunities for cooperation, and facilitate exchanges in ideas, talent, technology, and social initiatives. The forum aims to deepen Taiwan’s partnerships with countries in Asia and beyond. An annual event, the forum is attended by government and industry leaders, scholars and experts, innovators, and talented young people from around the world.

2025 Theme

The theme of the 8th Yushan Forum is “New Southbound Policy+: Taiwan, the Indo-Pacific, and a New World,” which highlights a fresh position and vision for Taiwan in the evolving international situation. Following the pivotal election year of 2024 and seismic changes to the geopolitical landscape, Taiwan is building on the achievements of the New Southbound Policy by further deepening regional cooperation and strengthening collaboration with NSP partner countries, Indo-Pacific states, and other like-minded nations.

President Lai Ching-te has set out a vision for Taiwan greeting a new world and the world greeting a new Taiwan and introduced the concept of values-based diplomacy. Under the integrated diplomacy approach promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Taiwan’s government agencies, corporations, and civil society organizations are coordinating to integrate values-based diplomacy, alliance-based diplomacy, and economic and trade diplomacy to realize the goal of Taiwan becoming a global economic powerhouse on which the sun never sets. Taiwan is steadily demonstrating its importance to international networks and its determination to contribute to the world. The 8th Yushan Forum will explore expanding collaboration between Taiwan and the global community under the NSP+ framework. By fostering greater opportunities for international engagement and cooperation, the forum aspires to present Taiwan to the world as an active and indispensable partner that contributes to regional and global prosperity.
