Dr. Tai-Yuan Chiu, M.H. Sci., is the Minister of Health and Welfare of Taiwan since May 2024. He holds a Doctor of Medicine from China Medical University and a Master of Health Science from the University of Tokyo.

Dr. Chiu has held key roles in academia, politics, and medical associations. He was a legislator in the Legislative Yuan and is Professor Emeritus at National Taiwan University. He has served as President of the Taiwan Medical Association, Taipei Medical Association, and the Confederation of Medical Associations in Asia and Oceania. Additionally, he has contributed to family medicine and palliative care through leadership at National Taiwan University Hospital and related organizations. With extensive experience in healthcare policy and administration, Dr. Chiu plays a crucial role in shaping Taiwan’s medical and public health landscape.
