
Dr. Shih-An CHEN
Shih-An Chen, MD, is Professor of Medicine at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University School of Medicine, the Honorary Superintendent at Taichung Veterans General Hospital, Taichung, Taiwan, and an Adjunct Professor at Case Western Reserve University, Ohio, USA.
Prof. Chen and his group members are devoted to investigating the mechanisms and ablation techniques for different types of cardiac arrhythmias, and published more than 1,000 original articles in journals and textbooks. Further, he is one of the world pioneers to develop atrial fibrillation ablation technique.
He was appointed chairman of the writing group on atrial fibrillation mechanisms for the Atrial Fibrillation Ablation consensus document by the Heart Rhythm Society, European Heart Rhythm Society and Asia-Pacific Heart Rhythm Society from 2007 to 2017. He was also the founder of the Asia-Pacific Heart Rhythm Society and served as its president in 2012 and 2013. Additionally, he was the Congress President of the Society’s annual scientific sessions in 2012 and 2018.
