Akira, AMARI (born 1949) is a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and a former member of the House of Representatives of Japan. During his tenure as a member of the 13th House of Representatives, Akira Amari served as Secretary-General of the LDP, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Minister of Economic Revitalization and other important party and government positions, and was very influential in the political arena. He was also in charge of the CPTPP negotiations on the Japanese side, and played an important role in leading policy promotion in economic and trade fields such as the semiconductor industry. He also established the Liberal Democratic Party's "Semiconductor Strategy Promotion Parliamentarian Alliance."
