Dr. Ming-chi CHEN

Dr. Ming-chi CHEN is the current Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in Taiwan, a position he has held since February 2025. Prior to joining the ministry, he served as Chief Executive Officer of the Institute for National Defense and Security Research (INDSR) and as an Advisor to Taiwan’s National Security Council, where his work focused on national security, cross-strait relations, and strategic policy analysis.
Earlier in his career, he served as Deputy Minister of the Mainland Affairs Council and held academic positions in sociology at National Tsing Hua University and National Taipei University. He received his Ph.D. and MA in Sociology from Yale University and his BA in Sociology from National Taiwan University.
