Amb. Sung-Joon YIM
Amb. Sung-Joon YIM is a veteran South Korean diplomat and academic who has combined distinguished service in government, academia, and the legal sector. Over the course of his career, he held several senior posts, most notably serving as Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Canada from 2004 to 2007. He also served as Ambassador to Egypt, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and National Security Adviser to President Kim Dae-jung. Beyond his diplomatic career, he was President of the Korea Foundation (2007–2010) and a chair-professor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. Since 2011, he has been Senior Advisor at Dentons Lee (formerly Lee International Law Office), advising on legal case handling while continuing to contribute his expertise in diplomacy and international affairs. He achieved his B.A. in Diplomacy at Seoul National University in 1971 and studied at Oxford Unirersity(1975-76) UK and Keio Unirersity(1977-78) Japan.
