Dr. Sana HASHMI
Dr. Sana Hashmi is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation (TAEF), and an affiliated scholar at the Research Institute for Indo-Pacific Affairs (RIIPA) and Taiwan NextGen Foundation. Her research focuses on China’s foreign policy, Taiwan’s foreign relations, territorial disputes, and Indo-Pacific security.
She previously served as a Consultant at India’s Ministry of External Affairs, working on Southeast Asia and the Indo-Pacific, and was a Taiwan MOFA Fellow at Taiwan's National Chengchi University. In 2025, she was a mentor and speaker at the Warsaw Security Forum’s New Security Leaders Programme.
Dr Hashmi writes a weekly column, Eye on China, for The Print, and has published widely in academic journals and policy platforms. She is the author of China's Approach towards Territorial Disputes: Lessons and Prospects and is currently working on her second book on India–Taiwan relations.
