Shihoko GOTO
Shihoko GOTO is the Vice President of Programs and Director of the Asia Program at the Foreign Policy Research Institute. Her research focuses on trade and economic interests across the Indo-Pacific, with a particular interest on economic security concerns in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. She is also a senior fellow for Indo-Pacific affairs at the Mansfield Foundation, as well as an executive board member of the Japan-America Society of Washington DC. Previously, she was Director of the Indo-Pacific Program at the Wilson Center. She started her career as a financial journalist for Dow Jones News Service, and also spent time at the World Bank as a donor country relations officer. She received an MA in international political theory from the Graduate School of Political Science, Waseda University, Japan, and a BA in Modern History, from Trinity College, University of Oxford.
