Daniel Awigra is a human rights activist and serves as the Executive Director of Indonesia’s NGO Coalition for International Human Rights Advocacy or Human Rights Working Group (HRWG; www.hrwg.or.id). Awigra is one of the co-founders of Better Engagement Between East and Southeast Asia (BEBESEA; bebesea.asia). He leads the work of BEBESEA secretariat among many other regional and international human rights advocacy work. He has extensive experience of leading regional and international advocacy. Recently, he was elected to the Executive Committee of Forum Asia, 2025-2028 (a regional network promoting human rights, democracy, and sustainable development across Asia through advocacy, research, and solidarity; forum-asia.org). He co-founded Journalist Association for Diversity (SEJUK; sejuk.org) in 2008.
