Dr. Tristan Liu has dedicated two decades to the Taiwan Thinktank, where he has served on the Board of Directors since 2021. In 2024, he further expanded his leadership role by assuming the Presidency of the Taipei University of Marine Technology.

As a senior researcher in industrial economic policy, Dr. Liu’s distinguished career spans both the public and private sectors. His previous leadership roles include:

- Director at the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research (TIER).

- Director-General of the Economic Development Bureau, Taichung City Government.

- Board Member for various state-owned enterprises and technology firms.

Dr. Liu has been a key figure in shaping Taiwan’s national direction, having contributed significantly to the industrial and economic policy platforms for both former President Tsai Ing-wen and President Lai Ching-te. He continues to provide strategic counsel as an advisor to the Executive Yuan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

Dr. Lu holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from National Taiwan University.
